First Drawing to Final Illustration

Christmas Card Design

I usually start with some sketches of what I have in mind. In this case, my new dog Lumo was my muse!

For this one, I’m thinking of using Lumo in my Christmas card design. She chases anything that moves, including angels.

…But birds are her favourite things to chase! In this drawing, (resting below her, panting?) I wanted to show all the other animals she’d like to chase.

These were really tiny thumbnail sketches I could combine? I manually collage my drawings together, rather than using Photoshop. I enjoy the real hands-on physicality of cutting and sticking like a big kid!

This is a serene scene, but it looks like Lumo is just about to jump the deer. So maybe, she should be sitting politely? Or singing to them?

And this is what I chose: a little serenity, a little humour!
